Biology first
GLP-1 is a hormone released after eating. It helps coordinate appetite, fullness, digestion, and glucose-dependent insulin signaling. Semaglutide activates GLP-1 receptors and may help reduce hunger, slow gastric emptying, and increase feelings of fullness.
